In the previous post - 10 reasons to Invest in Education - we dealt with the basic reasons to invest in education, and one of the items stated that Education does not have to be expensive.
What I forgot to mention is that education does not have to be a very time consuming activity. The old times of classrooms, teachers, blackboards and chalk are getting dug in history.
An option to get quality education is on the Computer Based Training model. Under the model, it is fairly easy - and mostly inexpensive -to be trained in a visually rich format and - maybe the most important feature - at one’s own pace.
As an example, I am starting a new business, and though it might be easy to deal with 5-6 employees at the beginning, after a while I might deal with a team of 25 or more persons. And then the frictions begin and the challenge is to keep the team focused on the same objectives.
Question 1. Should I keep confident on my experience or should i increase my leadership skills by means of acquiring knowledge?
Question 2. Starting from the fact that the business growth consumes most of my daytime, what would work better: a conventional set of human-lectured courses or a Computer Based Training?
CBT: Provider of Computer Based Training
CBT is a company which is pioneering the field of computer based training. The offer (of knowledge) of the company is varying and challenging. I was very surprised to see some features.
Excel Training
For many people, Excel is a worksheet that provides a couple of functions and is fine to obtain reports. What most of the excel users ignore is the not-so-obvious power of Excel, that can be unleashed by means of proper learning.
PMP Training
Project Management Professional is in fact a certification. But it is not another certification, it is one of the most valuable ones in the industry, as it credits the owner as someone capable of leading a project to succeed. CBT features the most appealing computer based training available for the professionals interested in scoring high to obtain the PMP.
Education for Children
One thing to keep in mind is that Computer Based Training is not made exclusively for adults. Children - in fact - get the same or more benefits from Computer Based Training. Fortunately, CBT has a set of programs developed for children.
Conclusion
If time is your excuse to stop investing in education, forget it. With Computer Based Training it is up to you to choose the best hours to learn.

I would certainly have to agree with you about Computer Based Training. For the last 3 years I have upgraded my skills through CBTs. I recently purchased some Office 2007 Cbts from a company called BrainStorm, Inc. Brainstorm really has it together in terms of CBTs. Since Excel 2007 has a new interface I found myself lost for a bit but with BrainStorm’s Computer Based Training, I was running in no time. I highly recommend them. You can find them onm the web here >> http://www.brainstorminc.com
