As to begin i have to accept that i - in no means - a psychologist, therapist or the like. But, i have an opinion and a weblog, and that uses to produce an article or post. Such is the case.

After the first disclaimer, i have to admit that it has been years since i passed through the last depressive period, in which - i will also have to admit, sincerely - i almost committed suicide. Long story, a grayish one.

Depression is one of the diseases of the modern life, commonly associated to the paradox of progress. The paradox states that no wonder how much material progress the societies achieve, its members might well fall into depression and unhappiness.

All of that, due to the fact that realization and success are not exactly gotten as soon as the fairy of wealth knocks at the door. In fact, as trembling as it might sound: happiness is on the road to success. But, not at the end, not at the beginning, not in the middle. It is all through the path.

Being less philosophical, the stuff behind depression is the feeling of incompleteness; many people who suffer from depression usually say that they feel "empty". It is because their life has no objectives, no clear goals to be scored, no mountain peek worth the effort of climbing up to the top.

The Profile of the Depressive Person

Opposite to the popular belief, many of the depressive people out there are not poor ones with lots of financial trouble, it would be surprising to note that many apparently successful professionals and businessmen are easy pray of depression. Why?

I believe that it is due to a low comprehension of success and a poor balance of life matters. Real success is not related to economic wealth, as much as it is the enrichment of the life as a whole. Successful careerist, successful employee, successful businessman is also a successful father, successful mother, successful son, successful gardener, successful pet owner. Well, it is in the art of excellence, where the complete human being finds the success, in the solace of the deep understanding of a basic fact of life: achieving has to be accompanied of enjoying, so live to love and love to live, love what you do and you will be doing what you love.

Walking with the Sight so clouded

Why would anyone feel depressed? For the utopic, ever happy human being, who has never fell into the dark pit of the depression, all the thing might look foolish. If analyzed by a different entity, the depressive behaviour is something that has nothing to do with the plain logic.

We feel depressed because we cannot see clearly what is beyond the cloud that we put ourselves in front of us. That’s all. We get into depression every now and then, just because we lose focus and the issues of life seem to outgrow our natural tolerance. For some persons, the mistake is that depression quits being a transitive state of the emotions, to become an usual behaviour, a sine qua non condition.

The depressive individual walks his path down with his/her sight totally cluttered by the clouds of the uncertainty, low self esteem and apparent inability to react to the adverse stimuli that life throws at his/her way.

Release your Potential, Get Rid of Depression

Filling our life with objectives, passion and love is - maybe - the best and only cure to the problem of depression. Take a look at the sunny day, raise your sight to the level of the clean blue sky, have the deepest breath ever and say to yourself that the nightmare is over. You have the power to change your life in whatever means you may ever think of. If you can, will you?
