The Fallace of Tomorrow I Will

I was talking to one good friend yesterday. The conversation fine as it could be among decades long friends, but it then turned to a point where i could no longer avoid putting some heavy stuff - in the argumental sense.
Josh - my friend’s name - commented that he was thinking about the chance to get out of job and establish his own business. A restaurant, french cuisine, backed up by his abilities as a flamant chef. By the way, he planned to earn enough to leave his current job of salesman, but he had no clue of where to start and how to do it.
I talked to him of the importance of organizing to face the challenge, the absolute need of a budget and how compulsory it was for him and his family to save as much money and resources as they could.
Then, Josh started to complaint about his level of expenses. "Pal, you know, it’s hard when you have 3 kids, one of them so close to college that I’m begging he works before it, and well… maybe, I will start saving next year, when Jessie gets a new job and the baby is older…" - he said.
Of course, Josh was wrong. I always remember my old grandfather’s saying: "Tomorrow I will… it is the favorite phrase of the ones that will never do anything" And it’s positively true.
What I told Josh was that the day to start saving, in fact, the day Zero of the schedule to reach his goals was THEN. In general, today should be the start to make our dreams come true, to establish the starting point to be happy, Because, we are as happy as we live our dreams, in the shape of short term and achievable goals, scheduled in a long term life plan.
I hope that I advised him enough, he is one of my true friends of a lifetime, and I have seen him sliding through the same slopes that I - in the long lost past - used to. Procrastination, fear, low self-confidence and a negative insight perception of oneself, all of that together, and anybody - no matter how smart or experienced - will be behind a desk, working for someone else forever.
As a conclusion, don’t wait for tomorrow to start saving or doing whatever your plans require. I won’t ever stop telling everyone that the dreams can come true, if one puts enough brains and heart, and lets all the "I cannot", "It will not work for me" and the rest of crappy talk out of one’s mind.
